While gasoline-powered versions of the mid-size Kia Optima were redesigned for 2016, the Optima gas-electric Hybrid model is carried over from 2015 with no changes.
Under-hood is a 2.4L gasoline engine mated to an electric motor, which put a combined 199 hp through a six-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive. Fuel consumption estimates are 6.6/5.9 L/100 km (city/highway) in entry-level LX trim, and 6.7/6.1 in the EX.
The LX comes with 16-inch alloy wheels, electric power steering, intelligent keyless entry with push-button start, leather trimmed steering wheel with tilt-and-telescopic adjustment, trip computer, cloth upholstery and heated front seats, power-adjustable driver's seat with lumbar, dual-zone automatic climate control, rear-seat air conditioning vents, cooling glove box, UVO infotainment system, backup camera, six-speaker stereo, Bluetooth, LED taillights, automatic headlights, fog lights, heated side mirrors, windshield wiper de-icer, aero-blade wipers and chrome door moulding.
EX trim adds 17-inch alloy wheels, heated steering wheel, heated rear seats, panoramic sunroof, rain-sensing wipers, power-folding side mirrors, HID headlights, LED daytime running lights and fog lights, mood lighting and illuminated scuff plates.
Top-end EX Premium trim gets blind spot detection, backup sensors, navigation, power front passenger seat adjustment, upgraded stereo, leather upholstery, cooled front seats and driver's seat memory.
Prices range from $30,095 to $36,695.
